Common sense is a basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge things that is shared by ("common to") nearly all people and can reasonably be expected of nearly all people without need for debate.
Sometimes, we are so keen to learn some skills and choose short-cuts towards reaching our targets. Most of the time, it happens at the expense of other aspects of studies such as basic principles and underlying concepts.
